a legitimate complaint, for once.

So for the past year (at least) my 18-year-old cousin with (what they think could be, but probably is not) Asperger’s has been having tremors and vocalizations that he cannot control. He already has learning issues, physical development issues, and social issues.

After months and months of inconclusive tests and confusion, the latest neurologist said that he most likely has some form of Tourette’s, but not really Tourette’s, and that it is only going to get worse for the rest of his life.

Guys, this is the sweetest, kindest kid I have ever known, who loves drumming and Disney and playing video games and volunteering at church and playing softball. I love him like a brother. It hurts me so much to even write this out, because I’ve been trying not to think about it all day.

I guess I’m just struggling to figure out how to deal with this, which is ridiculous because it’s not even like I am the one that actually has to “deal” with it, you know?
